…Furnished Holiday lettings & Income Tax – a holiday letting is where the property is furnished, available for 140 days+, actually let for 70 days+ and unoccupied for 31 days+. The important difference in rules with a furnished holiday let is that any losses can be offset against you other personal income. Although a holiday let does not receive the wear and tear allowance it is eligible for fixtures and fittings allowances - up to 40% in year one and 25% (on a reducing balance) in year two onwards.
