…Interest Only Mortgages –if you change your mortgage to an ‘interest only’ basis mortgage (assuming you currently have a repayment mortgage), all of the mortgage interest is offsetable against tax. With a repayment mortgage, only the interest (not capital) is offsetable i.e. only the interest element. Some other form of investment vehicle, should, run alongside to pay off the capital. If you assume capital appreciation of the value of the property will counter this you are taking a risk.
